For me I have issues with one sided biased propaganda from either side.
FYI, I am against the war, have been from the beginning. Now I am in favor of assisting as much as possible in doing what Iraqis would like us to do, ie rebuild if rebuilding is what they want, get out if getting out is what they want.
IMO, the first war and the sanctions were what caused the second war. In our first bombing raids of GWI we took out military and political targets and since we still had bombs (it is part of our economy...so we had old bombs and need to keep making new bombs so we got to drop them somewhere) so we next hit infrastructure, water purification, sewage treatment plants etc. Then we developed sanctions which while intended to reduce the likelihood of creating nuclear or chemical weapons also the piping, pumps, filters which were excluded also eliminated them from supplying water and handling waste....this killed and sickened untold tens of thousands... and all of this continued to madden Sadam and make him all the worse for the people (as did our promising to arm and support a coup and then back out)
Now we must also remember that we created trained, armed and funded Sadam and his army to fight Iran...after all our enemy's enemy is our friend. ANd funnly like Sadam, Osama, Noriega, Hitler, they all come back to haunt us.
So GWBII started GWII to show his daddy GWHBI how he erred in GWI and he could do better...odds are he's tried to do this all his life with his failed businesses and wanted to prove himself...doesn't matter how many had to die or which word econmy he had to ruin to do it....consequences of his actions have never been his strong suit.
But now, now the damage is done. It is too late for more marches and signs....it is time to do what we can for the Iraqi people and work toward solutions.
the Sunni/Shia thing is not a religious fight, it is a political game and struggle....one that we can't fix but just cause more issues...
